Micah

MICAH 7

Pastor’s Notes

This Sunday is our last week in the book of Micah.  I have so thoroughly enjoyed this study!  Our time in Micah has reminded me that there is no word in the Bible that is not truly wonderful.  We began with so many people having no real knowledge of this Old Testament book, even skeptical of doing a study on it.  We are ending with so many being in love with this book and being thankful for each and every Sunday we taught and prayed through the scriptures in Micah.  Micah reminds us that God’s word is amazing!!!!

In the last chapter of Micah, Micah speaks of feeling alone in this walk of warning and hope.  “Woe is me,” the prophet begins the chapter with.  Micah is tired and discouraged in ways.  Micah is not “preaching to the choir,” but to a bunch of people who have no desire to hear his message.

Have you ever felt alone in the midst of your faithful calling?  Have you ever felt like no one else cared as much as you did concerning what God placed on your heart?  The work of the Lord can feel lonely at times.  There is a lot going on in the message of Micah 7.  Micah is closing his book with a message of hope in Israel’s rise and the prayer and praise in God’s promises.  This is the primary focus of the chapter.  However, God’s love for Micah stands out to me the most this week.

We have spent 2 months in Micah.  We have spent time speaking on judgement as well as hope.  Teaching from a bird’s-eye view, looking at Israel and Judah, large populations.  We end with the image of need in one man.  Throughout Micah we see the wonders of the God of the Universe, but also the Father of one faithful man.

Thank you for reading each week, worshipping each Sunday, and being committed to growing in the Lord!
