GALATIANS 6

PASTOR’S NOTES

You who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness”

In the last chapter of Paul’s letter to the Galatians, Paul tells the people to pick each other up to continue the race of faith.  He describes this as “burden bearing.”  Burden bearing is easily seen as providing practical help to others that are in need, but in chapter 6 Paul is speaking about bearing with one another in the the burden of sin.  Helping each other in restoration.

While in the race of faith, many of us will slow down as we saw last week.   This week we see that many will not just slow down, but fall. Paul encourages the faithful to come alongside the fallen members of the Christian family and restore them to spiritual running.  In this attempt we are told to keep our eyes on the perfecter of faith, Christ.

For the one who comes alongside in gentleness to help, eyes of Christ!  For the one who has fallen and needs help, eyes on Christ!

Thank you for being apart of our Galatians study and I hope the devotions, sermons, and time together has been helpful.
